How much does a realism tattoo cost in Torrevieja?

Why isn't there a fixed price?

The first question I almost always get is: "how much does a realism tattoo cost?" The honest answer is: it depends on several factors. That's not an excuse to avoid giving figures — it's the reality of this art form. A good realism tattoo artist doesn't work from fixed price menus because every piece is unique.

Factors that determine the price

Size

This is the most direct factor. A small portrait (credit card size) can be done in a single 3–4 hour session. A full sleeve requires dozens of hours spread across multiple sessions. Most realism tattoo artists work by the hour or by project.

Design complexity

A single-person portrait in black and grey is technically different from a composition with multiple planes, mixed textures (skin, metal, fabric) or colour elements. The more complexity, the more hours of work and the higher the price.

Body placement

Certain areas are technically more challenging (ribs, neck, hands) due to skin distortion when moving, or because they are more painful and require more breaks. This can influence total session time.

The artist's experience

A tattoo artist with 15 years specialising in realism will charge more than one who has been doing it for 2 years. Justifiably so: the probability of a flawless result first time is much higher. A poorly executed tattoo can cost more in touch-ups or cover-ups than doing it right from the start.

General price ranges in Torrevieja (2025)

As a general reference for a realism-specialist studio on the Costa Blanca:

  • Small piece (up to 10 cm): from €150–200
  • Medium piece (full forearm or similar): €400–700
  • Large piece (thigh, partial back): €700–1,500
  • Large projects (sleeve, full back): multiple sessions, price agreed per project

These figures are indicative. A prior consultation — free of charge in my case — allows me to give you a precise quote for your specific idea.

The most expensive thing is regret

A permanent tattoo in a visible area is a lifelong investment. Going to the cheapest studio in town is rarely a good idea in realism: hyperrealistic shading techniques require years of practice and high-quality materials. A poorly executed tattoo can ruin not only the piece but also the canvas for future corrections.

How to request a quote

The easiest way is to contact me via WhatsApp or fill in the booking form with a description of your idea and the body area. With that information I can give you a fairly accurate estimate before we even meet.
